Our family never planned on selling spice blends. It just so happened that one afternoon we (the family) were browsing around at our local farmers market and me, being a spice junkie, noticed that nobody was selling any spices. I figured that would be a good side hustle at markets and nobody was doing it. So i got online and did lots of research for bottles/ jars and different spices. I placed an order for lots of bottles and random spices and spice blends. When they came in me and the family sat at the table for hours weighing out each spice and bottling them up for resale at the market. The first few outings we did were not good at all so we tried a different market. Things got better but not great. All this handmade packaging wasn't worth it so i reached out to different spice manufacturers and Spice Lab was the only one to give me an opportunity to be a distributer for them. After we put in a bulk order with Spice Lab we went back to the farmers market with Spice Lab products and our own spices that we already had packaged up from the first go around and sales increased 300%. We continued to try different farmers markets and sales continued to rise with repeat customers! So then we decided to sell online. First year (2023) of online sales was hard! The next year got much better. We were selling products all over the country while still going to our farmers markets on the weekends! We would even drive for hours putting flyers in mailboxes to promote our business! Now we want to be Alabamas #1 place to buy spices and spice blends online. We are always looking for different vendors to buy their unique blends and sell them on our website!
